Replace the screws that hold the center plate in place.

Use wire nuts to attach the wires white to white and black to black. Screw the light assembly onto the center plate so that it is firmly attached. Most ceiling fans already come with a housing assembly that allows for the ceiling fan to have a kit installed.

If the ceiling fan in question does not have a housing assembly then no light fixture can be installed onto that particular ceiling fan set up. Many times when a ceiling fan is designed it can be built with an optional lighting assembly. The objective is to get the power from point a the power source to point b the desired location for the ceiling fan.

On most fans dedicated wiring for a ceiling fan light kit will be visible and labeled lighting power or something similar. You should not need the cap but you may need the screws. Secondly it is not a in built chandelier which makes the attachment strong.

Because of this adding a light to your ceiling fan may be a quick and easy job. Yes you can attach chandelier light fixtures to you ceiling fan but it is not 100 safe and secure because you need to consider many factors before before installing or attaching the same like the weight bearing capacity of fan and the weight of chandelier. This way a company can use the same parts for both a cheaper product with no light and a more expensive one with lights.
