Drop Ceiling Removal
Before you proceed go the main electrical panel and turn off the circuit.

Allow time to dry before beginning the next step. Leave the ceiling lights in place until all the tiles are removed. I know that many basements or add on rooms like sun porches from this era often have drop ceilings too.
Turn off the circuit breaker providing power. The nice thing about this is that this drop was added after the rest of the ceiling so there would be minimal drywall repair at the end. Remove the other ceiling tiles.
